FAQs about pricing
Do I need to enroll in continuous care?
Continuous care is an optional service from Frida that provides ongoing clinician appointments, medication management (including free delivery), and unlimited messaging with our care team for just $29 a month with no commitments.
While continuous care isn't mandatory, it's a crucial part of what we offer, and we strongly encourage anyone who receives an ADHD diagnosis to join. Following up on your diagnosis with the right treatment, provided by people that really get ADHD, is the best way to create the change you're looking for.
How often will I meet with my clinician?
After you’ve completed your initial assessment and been prescribed treatment from your Frida clinician, they’ll continue to meet with you monthly to ensure your treatment is going well, or if your treatment plan requires changes.
Once you've reached a stable state with your treatment, you’ll continue to meet your clinician every 3 months.
How much does Frida cost?
Frida provides two complementary services — diagnostic assessments and continuous care — that have separate costs.
A diagnostic assessment with a Frida clinician costs a one-time fee of $349. If you're diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety, or depression, you have the option to sign up for continuous care for $29 a month, which includes regular appointments with your clinician, subsidized medication with free at-home delivery, and unlimited messaging with the Frida care team.
Frida is covered by private insurers that have an eligible health spending account.
If you need financial support to pay for your diagnostic assessment fee, contact us and we'll help.
When will I be charged for my Frida membership?
You will be charged for your Frida membership 30 days after your first appointment with Frida if you receive a diagnosis and medication-based treatment plan.
Is medication covered under Frida?
Medication (if prescribed) is not included, but private/public insurance and Frida financial assistance lower the cost of medication.
We'll work with you to find the lowest cost option.
How much do ADHD medications cost?
The cost of medications varies. We can help you lower the cost of almost all the first-line recommended treatments for ADHD in Canada, as per the Canadian ADHD Practice Guidelines.
For people with private insurance, we can usually help you access medication for $0 to $10 per month.
For people without private insurance, the cost is roughly $75 per month.
Are medication deliveries available everywhere?
Unfortunately, Frida is unable to deliver medications outside of the Greater Calgary and Great Toronto areas for the time being.
Our regional couriers were not meeting the standards we set out and as such, Affirming Care Pharmacy is working to find a new regional shipping solution that provides a better patient experience. We hope to resume deliveries for all patients in the future.
Patients that live outside of the Greater Calgary and Great Toronto areas will now receive their ADHD medications from their local pharmacy.
How can Frida help me save money on medication?
One of the best benefits of Frida's continuous care membership is access to medication at greatly reduced costs.
Over 70% of Frida patients pay less than $20 a month for their medication and 50% pay $0 per month.
If you're prescribed the generic version of Adderall — one of the most common prescriptions for ADHD — Frida is able to offer a greatly discounted price through our continuous care program.
If you're prescribed a branded medication (such as Vyvanse or Adderall), the Frida care team will help you find and access co-pay assistance programs from pharmaceutical manufacturers to help you save more.
Does Frida accept private insurance?
You will be able to claim Frida's diagnosis & treatment costs if your private insurance plan offers a health spending account.
However, the cost is not covered by private insurance plans that do not have a specific health spending account.
How does Frida's financial assistance program for generic medications work?
If a generic medication is prescribed, a Frida-affiliated pharmacist will call you to discuss how Frida's financial assistance will lower the cost for you. People with private insurance usually pay a maximum of $10 per month.
Frida has been able to create this program by working directly with the pharmaceutical industry to get them to invest in financial aid programs.
*Frida's financial assistance program is only available for patients receiving their medication through Frida's partner pharmacy, Affirming Care.
To be eligible, you must be living within the Greater Calgary and Toronto areas.
Who is Frida's partner pharmacy?
Our partner pharmacy in Alberta is Affirming Care Pharmacy.
